With many years of consulting and coaching experience with families on a variety of life-changing goals, my family-focused approach will be rooted in evidence-based strategies and honour your child’s needs and your parenting preferences.

Hello! I’m Chelsea Dawson, a certified Baby, Toddler and Child Sleep Consultant, mom of 2 and lover of sleep! I’m so happy you’ve landed in this safe and supportive space to start your family’s journey to more sleep.

As a previously tired mom of 2 young kids, I understand that getting enough sleep as a parent is paramount to showing up and being the best parent (and human!) we can be every day (and night).

After savouring the newborn snuggles and contact naps, I personally supported both my baby’s towards quality consistent sleep with hands-on and responsive methods. By supporting their unique sleep needs and gently guiding them to independent sleep (without cry-it-out), I was able to take back (and thrive in) parts of my life that were temporarily on hold in the newborn days. This looked like attending evening yoga classes, socializing with friends on the weekends, spending quality time with my partner and returning to the hobbies I love to do. If you’re missing parts of your ‘past life’ or looking to thrive in your current season of parenting without being perpetually exhausted, I’d love to help guide you there.

My passion has always been helping families and children and to work collaboratively with caregivers towards a personalized and meaningful goal, no matter how big or small. If it’s important to you, then it’s important to me! Before becoming a Sleep Consultant, I worked as a Behaviour Therapist in the Autism and Behaviour Services field for over 10 years, during which I completed my Masters of Professional Education specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) through the University of Western Ontario.

This plan includes:

• A comprehensive evaluation of your child’s current sleep routine and schedule (baseline tracking document and detailed questionnaire).
• An individualized and detailed sleep plan unique to your child’s needs and parenting preferences that covers all goal areas (e.g. night wakings, naps, morning routines, etc.) based on the information you’ve tracked and provided.
• A 1-hour video (or phone) meeting to review the plan prior to implementation and ensure you are comfortable with the strategies recommended.
• Live text support during night 1 of training from 7pm until your baby falls asleep.
• Ongoing text support for two weeks (during business hours) to help coach, support and navigate any hiccups that may arise for you and your baby as your sleep journey continues. You ask. I answer.
• Revisions to your child’s individualized sleep plan based on data collected using the sleep tracking chart provided.
• 4 scheduled calls to monitor program implementation, answer any questions,  celebrate sleep wins and ensure continued success.

A package for expecting parents and babies aged 0-12 weeks!

Let’s set your baby and family up for sleep success with this educational package. This isn’t sleep training! This plan will guide you to lay healthy sleep foundations to begin your family’s newborn sleep journey. This package covers a wide range of information such as normal sleep development, sleep safety, sleepy cues, the 5 S’s, establishing a sleep routine for baby, sleep environments and more! This package includes a comprehensive PDF guide on newborn sleep, 2 e-mail check-in messages and a 1-hour video/phone meeting within the first 10 weeks after birth to answer any and all of your new baby sleep questions (or just to have a social hour with a supportive mom who has been in those sleep deprived days before too! I see you!)

A 30-minute phone call to review your concern/goal, previously tried strategies and further discuss potential strategies to guide you towards meeting your goal.

This custom consultation call is for a parent, professional or caregiver for a child of any age (newborn to 6-years-old). During this call we will discuss 1 specific sleep challenge you’re facing and how to navigate it.

This call would be great for questions about nap transitions, early morning waking, nap refusal, schedule changes, newborn sleep questions, room sharing, travel sleep, or any family that isn’t quite ready to make a complete sleep overhaul and just looking for a little bit of guidance or reassurance.

You’ll leave this call with some tips and tricks to guide your family’s unique sleep journey.

Traveling with babe and worried about a safe, designated sleep space?

The SlumberPod is designed to fit over top of a pack-n-play, mini crib or SlumberTot to create a black-out sleep space for your little one. It’s small, lightweight, quick to set up and comes with a fan to circulate air within the enclosure. An absolute must have whether you’re traveling to a grandparents house or an all-inclusive and sharing a room with babe!

The SlumberTot is an inflatable toddler bed with 3-sided bumpers. This rental comes with an air pump for quick (under 2 minutes) inflation (and deflation) and a carrying bag. The SlumberPod fits overtop if needing a blackout sleep space for your toddler.

Get the rest you and your baby need on vacation with this must pack item. Local pickup in central downtown Hamilton. A refundable security deposit is required to secure this rental and will be delivered back upon safe, not damaged return of the Rental.

We can't recommend Little Sleep Space enough! Our little one had short naps and was waking every 1.5-2h overnight. We were nervous to try sleep training but are so glad we did! I was anxious to start a sleep training program, but after 8 months of being woken up every 1-2 hours I was tired and needed help. Chelsea created a personalized plan for my son and worked with us to make sure we were comfortable with that plan. Night 1 was tough but she was there every step of the way. Night 2 we already saw huge improvement and even when he hit hiccups throughout the two weeks she coached us through in calm, positive and encouraging manor. Backed by years of professional experience working with families and children on various life-changing goals and graduate level education, my approach is rooted in sleep science, is respectful to your baby and family values, and is individualized to your child’s unique needs. Your child and family’s journey to sleep is different from another and I am eager to provide you with a high level of support on your journey to more sleep. We will use a tracking chart to monitor progress throughout the journey and our all inclusive package includes 2 weeks of text message support so you’re never left wondering what to do next.

The Little Sleep Space approach uses evidence-based techniques that are significantly more gentle than a traditional “cry it out method”, however, there may be moments when your baby cries temporarily as they adjust to a new routine. We will work together to determine the best plan for you and your baby that is responsive to your baby’s needs and respectful to your parenting style, which can include you staying in the room with your baby if that feels best for you! We are on this journey together and I am here to support your preferences.

Most clients will see results in their child’s sleep within 2-3 days. Given our plans are individualized and focused on your family’s goals, some little ones may need a few extra days to settle into their new routine. The good news is that the all-inclusive plan offers 2 weeks of ongoing support to ensure you and your baby are happy, comfortable and sleeping well!

There is no shortage of information out there and simply put, working with a sleep consultant can take the guesswork out of all of it. Working with a sleep consultant will provide you and your child an individualized approach to their sleep and your needs using proven strategies in a supportive and respectful way.

Definitely! Book a support call (30 mins for $45) to start talking through some individualized strategies and suggestions to get your baby those much needed daytime snoozes and give you a break too!
